Pharmaceutical grade potassium carbonate has anhydrous substances or crystals containing 1.5 molecules. The anhydrous substance is white granular powder, and the crystalline product is white translucent small crystals or particles, odorless, with strong alkali smell. The relative density is 2.428 (19 ℃), the melting point is 891 ℃, the solubility in water is 114.5g/l00ml (25 ℃), and it is easy to absorb moisture and deliquesce in wet air. It is soluble in LML water (25 ℃) and about 0.7ml boiling water. After the saturated aqueous solution is cooled, glass monoclinic crystal hydrate precipitates, with a relative density of 2.043. The crystalline water is lost at 100 ℃. The pH value of 10% aqueous solution is about 11.6, and it is insoluble in ethanol and ether.

Pharmaceutical grade potassium carbonate is used in the pharmaceutical industry to make medical accessories (thickeners, preservatives, sweeteners, amino acids, vitamins), such as health food, fillers and pharmaceutical raw materials.
Precautions During Use
When using, pay attention to closed operation and strengthen ventilation. Operators must receive special training and strictly abide by the operating procedures. It is recommended that operators wear self-priming filter dust mask, chemical safety glasses, anti gas penetration work clothes and rubber gloves. Avoid dust and contact with acid.
